A secondary collecting focus is on Ottawa County history and West Michigan history more broadly. This includes areas such as Crockery, Robinson Township, and West Olive.


What kinds of objects does TCHM actually collect? Almost anything! The list of object names in the Museum’s database is currently thousands of items long! It contains many different items, from advertisements to a zither, from yttrium (a rare earth element sample) to a basket, from… well, you get the idea!


The items on display in this exhibit were donated within the last year. We hope that by sharing this sample of recently acquired artifacts with you, you will learn more about what the Museum collects and how the collection relates to the TCHM's mission of 'creating connections to local history'.
